Nyanya blast: ‘Men in military uniform bombed park’

Image
The car containing the bomb that exploded at Nyanya Motor Park, Abuja, on Monday, was driven to the park by two men in military uniform. The Head of Operations of Isiyaka Nagode Enterprises, Salisu Mukhtar, disclosed this in an interview with one of our correspondents in Abuja on Thursday. Mukhtar also said that the staff of the company had been questioned by the police. He stated, “Somebody that slept there told us he was there when two men in Army uniforms entered and parked a car there. “Two of them came in two cars. They parked the car and left in the other car around 2am. The person that saw them could not challenge them because they were in military uniform. They left in the second car. “When he woke up around 5am, he still found the car there. Because he was disturbed, he sent one of his boys to our office but we had not come by then. Nigerian military retracts claim that nearly all abducted students were released

Image
In an embarrassing blow to its perception from an increasingly skeptical public, the Nigerian military Thursday retracted a report that nearly all the 129 school girls kidnapped by suspected Boko Haram militants had been released. Just hours after a parent of an abducted girl claimed the Defense Ministry lied Wednesday about all but eight girls finding freedom, the director of defense said the initial report was "not intended to deceive the public." Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade's statement didn't indicate how many of the girls were still unaccounted for. "The number of those still missing is not the issue now as the life of every Nigerian is very precious," it said. 'Blatant lie' Distraught parents have waited for news for four days, putting their faith in a military rescue, said Lawan Zanna, father of one of the students. They are shocked that the government resorted to "blatant propaganda" and a "blatant lie," he s...

The Prettiest Wedding Updos

Image
Planning your wedding can be pretty stressful, but trying out different hairstyles to complement your dress is always the most fun part. While the amazing gowns from the catwalks of Bridal Fashion Week won’t be available until next year, the intricate updos can serve as inspiration for your big day now. At the Carolina Herrera show, lead hairstylists Nina Dimachki and Akemi Tamaribuchi created two different looks for the models, and we love how the hair accessories emphasized the style, rather than becoming the focal point. For the low bun, the pros simply gathered hair at the nape of the neck, twisted the chignon into place, and anchored the style with hair pins. The French Twist got an extra dose of volume at the crown, and held a retro vibe with its sleek finish. To start, the model’s hair was positioned just above the high point of the nape. Strands were twisted upward, and anchored along the seam on the right, with the ends twirled into the top to conceal them.   ...
