#BringBackOurGirls: Youths, students give Jonathan 40 days ultimatum

Youths and Students in Borno state led by Comrade Yusuf Tom and Miss Fatima Zanna Maliki have given government 40 days from the day(April 14, 2014) of the abduction of the female students of Chibok Government Secondary School by suspected members of the Boko Haram insurgents, which is expected to lapse on May 24, 2014, stating that, if by then the girls were not released they are going to mobiles students nationwide and gathered at the Ramat Square in Maiduguri, where they hope to go on hunger strike until government do everything within it’s power to release the abducted students. The students who condemn in strong terms the abduction of the female students also urged the Federal Government to to step up it’s effort towards speedy resolution of the security challenges in the country, as it has taken so long and it’s constantly taken different dimension. Explosion at gas plant injures 4 in Ibadan

An explosion at a gas refilling plant at Orita-Challenge  area of Ibadan on Monday injured four persons while two vehicles  and a motorcycle were burnt. The explosion, which occurred at the premises of  Hephzibah Petroleum Limited and Gas  Refilling Plant, happened  at about 3. p.m. when a mobile tanker was transloading  gas into a stationary tank. One of the burnt vehicles was a Passat  car marked PH 381 KJA while the other was a commercial cab with registration number AL  461 AKN. The burnt motorcycle was  marked GBY 278 QB. The spokesperson of the police in Oyo State, Mrs Bisi Clet-Ilobanafor, told newsmen at the scene of the incident that those injured were  passersby  outside the premises of the company. Clet-Ilobanafor, who could not confirm the cause of the explosion, however, said the wind may have blown the flames beyond the walls of the company.
