The Fall/ Winter Haute Couture Fashion week in Paris began on the July, 3rd and ended on July 7th 2016 with the appearance of a few of our favourite bridal designer showcasing their new and beautiful collections with admirable bridal inspired styles. Lebanese fashion designer  Elie Saab  introduced  The Light of Now  collection offering 3-d floral appliques, statement necklines, enchanting embroidery with the colours ranging from the golden gates of heaven to midnight purple and blue and desirable statement pieces in noir. All outfits were accompanied with stunning jewellery enhancing the elegant, sophisticated theme with runway glam – including an appearance from Nigerian Elite Model Management Model  Mayowa Nicholas.

The Federal Government says it will reimburse Zamfara State Government with N57 billion soon. President Muhammadu Buhari  made the promise in Wanke, Zamfara on Wednesday when he inaugurated some roads constructed by Zamfara Government. “I have known  Governor Abdulaziz Yari  as one of the performing governors who has made landmark achievements and l hope he will sustain this to bring more development to the state.” He said the state government had spent over N57 billion in the reconstruction of some federal roads in the state, assuring that modalities were being worked out to reimburse the state. He said the journey to fix Nigeria was still in earnest “which is why we will continue to execute the war against corruption and recover stolen public funds to be put to correct use,” the President said. Yesterday, DSS security agents arrested Hajiya Morufat Obanikoro, the wife of former Minister of Defence Musiliu Obanikoro’s wife following intelligence reports received from the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). She was arrested over the current investigation on her husband, who is wanted for questioning over the N4.745billion funds from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) which was reportedly traced to Obanikoro and some other persons. However, Mrs. Obanikoro, was released on bail after she was transferred to the EFCC by DSS. Her international passport was confiscated . She was requested to return on Monday for interrogation.

The rustic, chic, bohemian beaded collection with funky cowboy hats and floral detail brought life to the runway with big and bold statement colours traditional gold, purple, red, multicolored black, burgundy, lime green and pink.

Babatunde Fashola , Minister of Power, Works and Housing says the 215 MW Dual Fired Kaduna Power Plant will be completed in June 2017. Fashola gave the assurance on Wednesday in Kaduna after he inspected the Dual Fired Power Project. He said the contract was awarded in 2009 and it was expected to be completed within 36 months. According to him, the project cannot be completed as schedule due to inadequate budgetary allocation by the previous administration. The minister, however, said that work had since resumed at the site in Kudenden Area of Kaduna, adding that the project would be completed in the second quarter of 2017.

The Senate, yesterday, denied speculations of a plot to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that it was only a rumour. Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, refused to speak on the alleged impeachment threats with its National chairman Senator Ahmed Makarfi, saying it was a situation embedded within the legislature. The United Peoples Party, UPP, led by Chief Chekwas Okorie described any impeachment plot as satanic and subversive. The Senate in a statement by its spokesperson, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi read:

President Muhammadu Buhari  was today clad in his full military uniform.  Buhari, a retired Major General in the Nigerian Army is currently in Zamfara state on a working visit. He is seen with the Chief of Army Staff,   Lt.-General Tukur Buratai   alongside other army chiefs. Fireworks were filling the night sky as the crowds enjoyed July 14th, which is French National Holiday when gunshots rang out in the air and a gun man mowed down several people. The total number of the dead is now 80, with 18 people in intensive care units and several hundreds injured. The identity documents belonging to a 31-year-old French Tunisian were later found in the bullet-riddled truck after the gunman was shot dead by police marksmen, while he was driving the truck and still tring to take more lives, security sources said. The security source said: 'The identification of the truck driver is still underway.' The recovered papers indicate the man is a resident of Nice.
