Fatal Plane Crash During Zombie Movie Shoot
A photo released by the sheriff's office showed the badly damaged plane
Two people have died in a plane crash while filming a low-budget zombie movie in northern Florida.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office said it was investigating what caused the single engine aircraft to crash in Summerfield near Ocala on Sunday evening.
It said witnesses reported that the plane's engine stalled causing it to go down nose first.
It is thought the passenger was recording a scene for the movie which involved the pilot flying a plane.
The sheriff's office said: "Reports indicate that a group of people were in this area of Marion County to film a low-budget zombie movie that included a scene where the airplane would be used."
Local media has named the victims as Dennis W. Monroe, 65, of Summerfield, and passenger Joseph Lewis Sardinas, 70, of The Villages.
The investigation will be led by the Federal Aviation Administration.
