Afghan Deputy Governor Shot Dead During a University Class

Afghan officials said on Monday in Kabul that Abdul Qadim-Patyal, Deputy Governor of Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan was shot dead during a university class at Kandahar university.
Dawa Menapal, Provincial Official, said the gunman entered the classroom where Qadim-Patyal, was receiving lecture on Sunday night and opened fire on him while he was listening to the teacher’s lecture.
Menapal said that the killer had escaped.
President Ashraf Ghani condemned the attack.
Patyal was in his last semester in the education faculty of Kandahar University where he was studying in night classes.
