Gorgeous Naturalistas at The Kinky Apothecary’s Secret Natural Hair Brunch in May
On Saturday May 7th, 2016, The Kinky Apothecary(www.thekinkyapothecary.com) hosted its second Secret Natural Hair Brunch in collaboration with The Heat Free Hair Movement.
An exclusive group of ladies gathered at the Social Place, 33, Sinari Daranijo St, Victoria Island for mimosas and a 3-course meal catered by Ozoz Sokoh akaKitchen Butterfly.
There was also a hair talk led by Nibi Lawson, founder of The Kinky Apothecary and Ngozi Opara, founder of The Heat Free Hair Movement (www.heatfreehair.com).
To break the ice, the ladies, including presenter and actress Oreka Godis, took turns describing why they went natural, their natural hair journeys and any problems encountered along the way.
An informal Question & Answer session then took place with Ngozi Opara and Nibi Lawson giving advice ranging from general hair health and building a healthy hair regimen to the pros and cons of dyeing hair, and even veering off topic to talk about the life of a female entrepreneur.
After dessert, ladies were able to mingle, make new friends and shop for clothing from Grey, make up and beauty products from Sacred Beauty, natural textured hair pieces from Heat Free Hair, and a wide selection of natural hair products at special prices discounted for the day from The Kinky Apothecary.
Guests had a wonderful and informative time and rounded off the lovely afternoon with fully stocked goody bags from The Kinky Apothecary.
According to The Kinky Apothecary C.E.O. Nibi Lawson, “We weren’t sure how well this brunch would go down so close to the first, but wanted to take advantage of Ngozi Opara being in Lagos. The response was overwhelming, the afternoon well attended, and we are really looking forward to organizing the next event”.
Until then, customers can continue to shop for products on The Kinky Apothecary’s website or via one of their concessions.
