Taylor Swift has a full-blown case of nostalgia, and we’re loving it! Not only did she channel a past decade with her new album, 1989, but now she’s throwing back to her pre-teen years. The superstar just shared the most adorable photo of herself from when she was 12 and rocking her long wavy tresses in cornrows.

She explained the shot in her caption: “The last time an album sold as many copies as 1989 did first week, it was 2002, I was 12, and going through my ‘braids phase’. #nofilternecessary.” Now 24 years old, the singer also reclaimed the No. 1 song in the U.S. this week with “Shake It Off” and is on track to have the best-selling album of the year.
