VP Osinbajo Commissions LASEMA Response Unit and Security Vehicles and Motorcycles in Lagos

Vice President,  Professor Yemi Osinbajo  commissioned the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA)’s Response Unit and some equipments procured by the State government for the Unit, as well as some security patrol vehicles and motorcycles in Lagos today. Osinbajo also commissioned the newly constructed Ago Palace Way, Okota. The Vice President represented  President Muhammadu Buhari  who was billed to be in Lagos on Monday and Tuesday on a working visit but was postponed due to “scheduling difficulties”.

Female Talking Drummer, Ara has Been Appointed a Cultural Ambassador by The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi

The Ooni of Ife,  Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi  has announced the appointment of  Aralola Olamuyiwa  aka  Ara  as a Cultural Ambassador of the Ife kingdom. She is well known for her skills as the first accomplished female talking drummer In Nigeria and she has been in the game for over 25 years. According to the letter addressed to Ara, she was recognized for her cultural contribution to Ile Ife and Yoruba land as a whole. She would serve in that capacity as a promoter and preserver of the Talking drum for future generations.

David Beckham was seen buying and handing over to a homeless man - a burger and beer, after he had lunch with his children and niece at Tommi’s Burger Joint in West London. David came out of the joint with the burger in his hand and the bottle of beer, handed it to the homeless man whose face immediately lit up. The pair then had a quick talk before David went back into the restaurant. Such a nice gesture!

EFCC today arraigned former PDP Presidential campaign spokesperson, Femi Fani-Kayode in an Ikeja magistrate court where they secured an order of remand to keep him in their custody for another three weeks.  A statement released by the agency reads;

Fayose bans cattle grazing in Ekiti, says; “cattle farmers must own ranch”

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has banned grazing and rearing of cattle in the State, saying those interested in cattle farming should get their own private cattle ranch and that a bill to make movement of cattle from one location to another criminal in the State will soon be sent to the State House of Assembly. Governor Fayose, who made this known when he visited Oke-Ako in Ikole local government area of the State that was invaded last Friday by Fulani herdsmen that killed two residents of the town and injured others, warned that government will henceforth confiscate any cattle seen anywhere in the State apart from ranch created for them by their owners.

Lagos State Government to Replace “Danfos” With AC Buses & Teach Transport Operators Behavioural Etiquette

The Lagos State Government has announced plans to rebrand the transportation system in the state. According to  PUNCH , the state Commissioner for Transportation,  Dr. Dayo Mobereola , made the announcement during the 2016 annual ministerial press briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, saying that the initiative would involve replacing the mini-buses, popularly called  “ Danfo” , with high-capacity buses. Mobereola said that the state government would introduce commuter protection number plates and body tags on buses to show their routes and enforce colour uniformity on all public transport systems in the state.

Music Legend, Celine Dion broke down in tears during her first televised singing performance since the death of her husband, after her eldest son René-Charles, made a surprise appearance on stage to present her with the Icon award during the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. Celine who performed a cover of her late husband's favourite song, 'Queen's The Show Must Go On', was given a standing ovation by the crowd, but became overcome with emotion and broke down in tears after René-Charles emerged on stage with her award. Reflecting about the emotional moment on stage to ET, Celine said, 'To try to perform that song without collapsing was big enough. 'LAnd then I turned around and I saw my son.
