NLC Threatens To Shut Down NIPOST Offices Nationwide

The president of The  Nigeria Labour Congress Mr. Ayuba Wabba and the employees of The National Union of Post and Telecommunication on Wednesday shut down the operations of the Nigerian Postal Services in Abuja to protest an alleged decision of the management (of NIPOST) to compel Level 07 members of staff, numbering over 4,000, to join the Senior Staff Association of Communications, Transport and Corporations, against their wish Wabba said that the NIPOST management wrote the Accountant General’s Office to send check-off dues deducted from Level 07 officials of the organisation who have been in NUPTE for over 30 years to the SSACTAC. He said the NIPOST management violated the rights of workers to belong to unions of their choice. Nigerian police unveils 259 customized patrol vehicles

On Monday May 18th, the Nigerian police launched 259 customized patrol vehicles at a ceremony at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. IG of Police, Solomon Arase, who unveiled the vehicles said the vehicles are specially designated 'Safer Highway Patrol Vehicles' that will work nationwide. Each vehicle has been customized to specific states.  More photos below...

Amaechi paid out N300million to acquire illegal injunction to stop my inauguration - Wike

Press statement from Rivers State Governor-Elect, Nyesom Wike. Read below... Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has decried the use of the office of the Attorney General of Rivers State by outgoing Governor Rotimi Amaechi to file a suit for Rivers State All Progressives Congress ( APC ) to stop his inauguration.  Addressing members of the inauguration and transition committees  on Tuesday  in Port Harcourt,  Barrister Wike announced that the Federal High Court in Owerri has struck out the suit filed by Attorney General of Rivers State and the Rivers APC.  He informed that credible information available to him indicates that Governor Amaechi paid out N300m to some lawyers out of an agreed N500m for the procurement of the illegal order which has failed.  Barrister Wike noted that the state became bankrupt because of the outgoing governor's fixation on stopping his inauguration and his siphoning of government funds to shop for unconstitutional court orders.  He said
