Driver kidnaps, rapes 18-year-old student for 21 days

A 28-year-old man has been arrested and arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court over the alleged abduction and rape of an 18-year-old female student of  Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin. According to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, the incident happened at the Agege area of the state. The 18-year-old victim had reportedly left her mother’s shop for school on January 21,2014 but did not have enough transport fare to cover the journey. Reports  say: She reportedly met Asaye, a family friend, on the road. He promised to assist her with money and take her back to school in his vehicle. The Ogun State indigene was said to have, however, taken the student to his house in Agege where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of the victim, who was a virgin before the encounter. Report links obesity to ovarian cancer

A new report for the first time suggests that being overweight increases a woman's risk of ovarian cancer, one of a growing list of cancers now linked to obesity or excess body fat. Researchers have examined the link between excess body fat and ovarian cancer for years, with mixed results. Today's report, released by the American Institute for Cancer Research and World Cancer Research Fund, is the first to find that being overweight is a "probable" cause of ovarian cancer. Researchers note that the increase is modest: A 5-point increase in a woman's body-mass index , or BMI, increases her risk of ovarian cancer 6%. Body-mass index is a ratio of a person's height and weight. A BMI above 25 is considered overweight, while a BMI over 30 is obese, according to the National Institutes of Health. Mom in Tennessee blames Jesus for baby's death

A Tennessee mother accused of killing her 7-month-old daughter on Friday won't be arraigned until a mental evaluation is conducted, a judge ordered Monday. Authorities in Clarksville, Tenn. responding to reports of a  naked woman screaming in road  early Friday morning found a dead baby inside her home, the Tennessean reported. Officers arrested Stefany Paige Johnson after finding  7-month-old Astrid Johnson’s dead body on the couch.  Police said they found no evidence that Johnson, 24, tried to provide medical care for her child, the Tennessean reported. Johnson allegedly told police she was bathing her daughter  when “Jesus came down and took Astrid to heaven,”  the Leaf Chronicle reported. Police concluded Johnson’s negligence resulted in the child’s death, the Leaf Chronicle reported. Johnson had been scheduled to appear in court Monday morning  on a charge of criminal homicide.  She is being held without bail at the Montgomery County jail, the Associated Press r

The Institute of Football Coaching and Statistics, names Nigeria’s Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi 24th best national team coach in the world. Head coach of Ghana Black Stars, James Kwesi Appiah was listed in the 42nd position in the lastest ratings by the body. The coach of the Spanish national team, Vincente Del Bosque tops the list with 25188 points followed by Germany Joachim Low with 21422 points. Oscar Tabarez of Uruguay placed 3rd, Italy Ceasre Prandelli came fourth, Netherlands Van Marwijk 5th, Jurgen Klinsmann 6th , Poalo Jorge Gomes of Portugal 7th.
